Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts: Right of Audience for Dr. Christian W. Konrad

19. Mai 2026

Broadening our international arbitration and disputes practice: Further strengthening the firm’s capabilities in international arbitration, cross-border litigation, and complex dispute resolution across key international jurisdictions.

We are pleased to announce that  Dr Christian W. Konrad has obtained rights of audience before the Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts (ADGM Courts), including the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal.

The ADGM Courts, based in the financial free zone of Abu Dhabi, are modelled on the English common law judicial system and have established themselves as a leading forum for the resolution of sophisticated commercial disputes in the Middle East and beyond. Their framework is internationally oriented and particularly suited to cross-border business matters, financial disputes, and high-value commercial litigation.

The Court of First Instance has jurisdiction over civil and commercial disputes arising under the legal and regulatory framework of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, including disputes submitted to the Court by agreement of the parties, as well as appeals from decisions of ADGM Authorities. The Court of Appeal hears appeals against judgments and decisions rendered by the Court of First Instance and addresses questions concerning the interpretation of ADGM regulations and rules.

In addition, the ADGM provides a modern arbitration framework under its Arbitration Regulations, which are based on the widely recognised UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration. This internationally respected framework supports efficient and sophisticated dispute resolution and further strengthens the ADGM’s position as a premier dispute resolution hub.

Dr. Konrad’s admission before the ADGM Courts represents an important milestone in the continued international expansion of Konrad & Partners. It further enhances the firm’s ability to advise and represent clients in high-value international disputes with a Middle Eastern dimension, including arbitration-related court proceedings, cross-border enforcement matters, interim measures, and complex commercial disputes involving multiple jurisdictions. The admission also reflects the firm’s strategic commitment to maintaining a strong presence in key international dispute resolution centres and to providing seamless support to clients operating in global markets.
