Claudia Salomon, President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, joins Peter Rižnik to discuss the growing need for the adoption of a more client-focused mindset in international arbitration. To better meet the parties' expectations, Claudia proposes to include them more closely into the arbitration process, be it by way of the case communications as well as the communication between the parties and institutions. For certain cases, she suggests to adopt adjustable procedural timetables at the outset of the proceedings to make full use of the flexibility of international arbitration. Another indispensable approach is to promote diversity in international arbitration to better reflect the diversity of the international business community - in this regard she presents the newly established Task Force on Disability Inclusion in International Arbitration of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
